A Sad Day For Atheism by esbenlp A Sad Day For Atheism by esbenlp
The shadows in general and the steps of the ladder don't look to good, but I'm practicing and this is a part of my practice.

Don't put too much interpretation in my choice of coloring. The ball pen I was using to start with ran out of ink so I took the nearest pen and it just so happened to be red. Then I chose to go back to the blue color, but I didn't have a similar pen as the one I initially used so that's why the blue color varies a little.
The ink dots that looks sprayed on and makes kind of a nice effect is actually sprayed on. It was the result of a ball pen loosing its ball causing the ink to spray all over a couple of sketches and a bit on this one too. It completely ruined the other sketches, but they were bad anyways so forget about it.

(There might be some unasked questions hidden in this one for you all to answer if you like)

Bad Religion!!! Bad, Bad, bad!

I love it lol. People should just respect what another believes. That counts for atheists, but Christians, muslims etc. as well :)

Hahahahaha! Religion and atheism... I don't cheer for any of them. "Alt med måde" as we say here in Denmark, which best translates to 'everything in controlled measures'. I widely disregard this saying when it comes to alcohol, food and fun, but in politics and religious matters I stand by it.

I hear you. I'm an atheist myself, but I always respect religious people, provided they respect me.

If they try to convert me I start a verbal war and win ;)

You might like the Root of Evil Documentary, by Richard Dawkins. It provides an interesting view of religion. It never aired in the U.S. because of advertisers being afraid to lose viewers, but you should be able to find a copy. Be it on amazon, google video, or the "darker side of the internet".

Something I would like to point out. You can be religious and atheist. Remember, Buddhism does not have a god.

Which is true, but I see Buddhism more like a way of living, than a religion, really.

I hear you as well, haha.

I'll be sure to check it out when I get the time. Right now I am quite busy with my project at university, sadly.

Bad Religion!!! Bad, Bad, bad!!! HAhahaha genius! xD
This is kinda/very surreal, man... I've been thinking about the meaning of the eggs... and ended up with two possibilities: A- Eggs, in the common meaning: Balls... as in "Oh, Christianity, you're breaking my balls here...".. It could work with "eggs" too, right?
B- The stoopid Christian belief that the Chicken came before the Egg. So, they enjoy breaking OUR eggs... D:
Then, I'm not sure but I think those too little fellas behind the ladder are the sticky guy and the robot dude... No idea what could it mean, though...
It would be a damn long message if I wrote about every hidden element I find meaningful (or I don't understand) here, so I'll stop here. But I'd like that YOU explained some of the elements of this picture. Like the pencils, or the fella talking from inside the crack on the "floor"... xD

HAHAHAHA! Yes! Someone noticed the tiny versions of Tim Taendstik Helt (the sticky guy) and the robot dude! I made them because even small people have the right to be noticed. There's no connection to the rest of the piece whatsoever.
Your interpretations of the eggs are both spot on, though the A version is the favored one. I also made it eggs because of the symbol of life being spawned from something white and hard shelled (like the white sterility of labs spawning life through cloning and other various interesting ways, which is in every way in contradiction with almost every religious views. Fuck religion!)
The pencils is just an idea I got while drawing another piece (one of those ruined by ink splatter). I decided to use them as the penetrators of the egg shells because of another symbolic opportunity. Religion has proved a very powerful usage of pens. The words written in various religious guides to life have been enough to persuade some people gladly go to war and die. That's the reason why it is pencils that breaks the eggs.
For your thoughts about the man in the crack: He's the fella who sold the egg protection to the motley crew. Sadly they only went for the sword protection even though the protection fella clearly stated that pens are stronger than swords. He is actually the most enlightened person in the entire doodle.
The other small things like "DON'T WORRY" written on the egg and "ROCK ON!" is words of comfort for all of you people out there.

I think this covers it all. By the way I just made it all up and these answers are no better than any answers you gave or than any one else can give. If you have more questions, just answer them yourself and feel confident in them.

Rock the knowledge and the free thoughts!

hahah wow, man... You earned a favorite, just because of that! xD
Well, I do have another question.. Why a sheep? I don't think it is one of "God's sheeps", cause one of those wouldn't say "Bad religion!!!" xD But now you mentioned the "the white sterility of labs.." I think it could be Dolly? :O You know, that first cloned sheep, the one that created all that controversy (God bless it!)? xD haha

Hahaha! Thank you for the favorite!

I don't know why it had to be a sheep. I just have a thing for sheep. They have been in quite a few of my doodles through time. They seem to just hang on. A bit like TTH. He likes to appear everywhere too.

But your idea about Dolly is evidence of a sharp mind working well. If it had been a first time sheep (meaning appearing in a doodle for the first time) then the Dolly explanation would probably be the best.

You earned a gold star for your bright ideas!

I will try and draw it and send it to you. It might take some time for me to pull myself together and actually do it, but some day, some day.

Rock the anticipation!
